Part of the Altitude collection, The Arma 1/2 Zip from the Arma Fleece Wool series incorporates the moisture management benefits of Synthetic fibers with the superior thermal regulation of merino wool. Made with a Polyester face for moisture wicking and quick dry time and a merino wool backer for temperature regulation through a complete range of Environments. By combining polyester and merino wool, this gives the fabric more strength, more stretch, and a smoother finish resulting in an incredibly comfortable mid-layer. The Arma 1/2 zip was inspired by the Arma Hoodie by removing the hood, pockets & switching to a 1/2 zip reducing weight & bulk making it the ultimate layering piece. Combine this mid-layer with the mid-weight Arma Hoodie or the Arma Tech 1/2 ZIP Base layer for maximum performance.

SILVADUR™ antimicrobial technology inhibits bacteria growth and buildup of microbes on fabric surfaces. These microbes often destroy fabric integrity, shorten its useful life, and can cause discoloration, spoiling and staining. SILVADUR™ polymer-containing silver technology releases silver ions to neutralize odor-causing bacteria upon contact with your clothing. SILVADUR™ ensures fabrics stay fresh without affecting the fit, feel, or finish of the treated garment.
HOW IT WORKS - Silver contains inherent antimicrobial properties. It has been a time-tested antimicrobial used since ancient times in healthcare, food preservation, and water treatment as well as other applications where effective, long-term bacterial protection is required. Silver is a leading antimicrobial due to its safety for human contact, long term efficacy and prevention of growth for a broad range of microorganisms.
HOMOGENEOUS FINISH - SILVADUR™ antimicrobial technology provides uniform distribution of silver ions throughout the fabric– ensuring comprehensive protection and long-lasting freshness.
RESISTS YELLOWING - Fabrics treated with SILVADUR™ antimicrobial technology will not fade or yellow over time.
NO LEACHING - SILVADUR™ long lasting antimicrobial won’t ever cross the skin barrier or migrate from the fabric. This means that SILVADUR™ antimicrobial won’t impact the micro-flora, or good bacteria, when in contact with skin.
I always keep this top in my pack. Once the sun goes down I slip it on. It isn't in my opinion a lightweight baselayer, but more of a midweight. But the fleece is great. It is silent to wear and extremely comfortable. Fits great. Possibly my favorite Altitude top.
I guide in Montana all winter. This pull over is the best piece of clothing I own. It’s definitely one of my favorites. Keeps you warm all day in the cold. Highly recommend
"arma fleece 1/2 zip"
awesome fleece! stretchy, lightweight yet sturdy grid fleece that keeps you warm and does a decent job helping to block wind. fits true to size. the breathable panels in the arm pits do their job. excellent zippers and layers well with hoodies etc. altitude camo works great in the Australian high country, would recommend!
I don't understand the sleeve pocket but okay. Great fit. Will work well in fall temperature. Very glad I ordered it.
The Arma Fleece 1/2 zip is the same technology we use in Spec War with our Level 2 protective clothing load out. I own all pieces in the Altitude lineup and this is an awesome addition. I spent 2 weeks hunting in Northern BC in late September and the Altitude gear keep me warm and I never once got wet. I highly recommend this line. The Fleece is a great layer to go under the Ghar and the Takur jacket for protection against all elements.
I had my doubts about how warm this layer was going to keep me. Elk hunting in sub zero and single digits were nothing. The Arma Fleece combined with my Merino wool base was what I wore when the exertion got heavy and I was fine. It wicked away the sweat so as the activity went down, I never got cold. Will be buying more Altitude pieces to complete the set as time and funds allow.
"Arma Fleece 1/2 zip"
The Arma fleece is very warm but breathable and seems to wick moisture to the surface of the garment, keeping me as dry as possible while hiking. Combined with the Bora vest it is perfect for a long fall or spring hikes into the high country. I give the Arma Fleece 4 of 5 stars for the fit. The large is a bit too large and long in the sleeve length. The longer sleeve length causes the fleece to bunch up in the elbows and arm pit when worn under a shell.
The whole Arma line runs pretty big. I had to exchange all of it for a size smaller unlike the Bora and Tora which run true. This is my favorite midlayer ever. Soft, stretch is great and warm while being highly breathable. Very happy.
"Arma Fleece ½ Zip - could be better"
I bought this short for cold weather and although the material and workmanship are great, the shirt is a miss in my book. I don't exactly have a pencil neck and the fit of the collar is ridiculous for a cold weather shirt; i.e., way too big. I am very disappointed. I won't buy another.
