This jacket is great for an active hunter. I move a lot and warm up really quick so with layers this shell is perfect for staying warm, and cooling off when you need to. I've used it in 85 degree days with cool mornings, it's perfect for taking the edge off early in the day. Also used it with layers in 30 degree weather. I have it in Mandrake, which is great for the Oregon coast, but in the high desert here it's a little too green. Highlander seems to works for both though. This jacket also does well with light rain and mist.
"My Favorite Hunting Garment"
This jacket will do it all. Add a puffy, it does cold. Use a lightweight shirt, it does spring turkey. It’s soft, quiet, and repels water pretty darn good. This is one piece of gear I won’t be without.
I love this jacket! I purchased this jacket for a very much anticipated New Mexico hunt in high elevations. I needed a layering system for a possible run and gun turkey hunt in mid April. Being at that elevation weather is unpredictable. Temperatures can drop suddenly along with wind gust making any hunt quickly turn rough . We had a cold snap here in North Carolina mountains so in a late season dove hunt I layered up using the jacket and the Dalibor vest. I put on a fleece base layer the Dalibor vest and topped it with the Dalibor jacket! Temp was 24 degrees with wind 5 to 10 mph. I was comfortable . I did not move around much which gave me an idea of the insulation properties of this set up! Good to go! Man I love this outfit! Jacket and vest paired up nicely as the at team at Kryptek stated it would ! Thanks Kryptek. The guys at the field loved the outfit. I also wore the Stalker pant with a fleece base layer under the pant . Good to go!! Outfit was bulky at all! I was shocked to find it had the capability to withstand that kind of cold. Love it!! Just to note that I am a little over weight ! Yep we got to figure that in! Lol
Jacket is ok, good quality. I find the sleeves disproportionate, maybe this provides some functionality, but for me it’s awkward.
Awesome shell and light weight jacket. Perfect for glassing and layering. Material is tough and super warm. Great with wind shielding.
"Great fitting and looking jacket."
I already own this jacket in Highlander, but wanted the same feel in a jacket that I can wear when out to dinner with my family, so I picked it up in the Khaki color. I'm 5' 11" and 155# and consider myself of an athletic build. Far too often if a jacket fits right around the torso and chest, the sleeves are about 1-2" short and the waistband area is too high. These jackets fit me perfectly with sleeves that stay around my wrist when my arms are outstretched and the waistband stays below the belt. An additional great feature is the Highlander came accenting that is around the inside of the collar, hood, and zipper. I love this jacket!
I got this for an elk trip that got put off for the birth of my hunting buddy's first child. I figured I might as well put it though the ringer before I took it out there anyway. 2 seasons of whitetail and coyote hunting later, and this is my favorite hunting jacket. I don't cook on the way in to the stand, but I don't freeze once I get there. With layering I've used this from 60° all the way down to coyote hunting in the mid-20°s at night. For stand sits, you're good to mid 30° (below that I switch to my Vellus set). I take care of my equipment, but I'm not gentle and this has held up through some brutal hunts (including a coyote hunt that had us in the field when a blizzard pulled a 180 and hit us again). It's not waterproof, but it's definitely water resistant. On a whitetail sit while waiting for a storm to pass, I was warm and dry. My buddy was not so lucky. Pockets are well- placed and amply sized for whatever you might need. Definitely worth the money.
"Outstanding multi season use"
Favorite jacket!...Can wear it early season into late season, layering up and down. Extremely durable and well constructed, and quite also...Great for bow hunting and rifle hunting.
